The Akona team is committed to helping the local communities through various means. From donating time to develop collateral material for Habitat for Humanity, to getting out and helping flood victims clean up their houses, community service is one of the values of each team member. Akona supports various efforts as an organization, and also supports individual employees who may want to take on a specific project to help someone with a need.

The Akona team is committed to joining the global community in making a better, safer world. As part of the solution, Akona believes that education holds the key to unlocking countries from the grips of poverty, disease and starvation.
In the “A to Z Campaign: Raising Communities through Education” Akona is working to empower women and children through education by funding educational scholarships, providing school supplies, and subsidizing operational costs for non-profits that are dedicated to this cause.
In partnership with VillageSteps, Akona supports educational opportunities for orphaned and vulnerable children in Zambia. Africa is one of the most impoverished regions in the developing world, and empowering the people of Zambia is a crucial step in this critical fight.
Akona also donates valuable technology consulting and website development for the offices at VillageSteps.
